Facility & Hours

We take great pride in our facility and the care we provide there.

Our surgical facility, located in Henrico, is a tertiary care center that provides skin cancer surgery to residents living in and around the Richmond area. For skin cancer patients and those requiring reconstruction, we accept referrals from plastic surgeons, dermatologists, ENT surgeons and primary care physicians.

Our physicians also schedule appointments at our Affiliated Dermatologists of Virginia office located at 7813 Shrader Road in Henrico. Please check your appointment card to verify the location for your appointment.

Our State-of-the-Art Facility

Our ambulatory surgical center is modeled after a hospital environment. It conforms to and is approved by the State of Virginia, Medicare and the Joint Commission standards in design, policies and procedures, fire protection, safety and handicap accessibility. These standards are considered the highest to ensure the safest surgical environment. Yet, surgery is performed in a comfortable, cost-effective, outpatient setting. We take pride in these distinctions as few dermatologic and plastic surgery centers nationwide achieve them.

Our procedure and exam rooms have state-of-the-art lighting for better detection of skin cancer and visualization of the cancer’s outer margins. Our lab is CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments) approved for on-site processing of the pathology.

We also have a dedicated, comfortable separate waiting room for our patients undergoing Mohs surgery. The room has snacks, coffee, a small refrigerator, microwave and wireless internet access available for use.

Office Closings

In the event of inclement winter weather, the office will be closed if the Henrico County Public School (HCPS) District closes their schools for the day. The HCPS school closings are announced on local television stations beginning at 6am. On the second day of the school closing, Dr. Rausch will determine all additional office closings and delayed openings. Our office staff will notify you with additional information concerning your appointment.
