Neck Lift

A graceful neck is often seen as a hallmark of youth and femininity. Neck lift surgery can help get rid of loose skin and neck bands, restoring a smooth, youthful look to your neck and jawline.

Getting older can be a pain in the neck. Losing skin elasticity, the effects of fat deposits and gravity can all contribute to sagging neck skin and a loss in definition of the neck and jawline. If you're interested in creating a more youthful appearance, a neck lift might be the procedure for you.

What to Expect

A neck lift is done on an outpatient basis under sedation and general or local anesthesia. Dr. Schleicher will make an incision under the chin, behind the ears, or both. Once that is complete, the fat is suctioned out or excised, muscles are tightened, and any excess skin is removed, depending on the patient's needs.

You will be sent home with your chin and neck wrapped in dressings or an elastic sling. Any initial discomfort can be easily controlled with oral medication. You can expect bruising and swelling to disappear after approximately 2 weeks. You can expect to return to wok after approximately 10 days and to see final results of the neck lift after 5 months.

Risks

Deciding if neck lift surgery is right for you and the specific risks involved can only be determined after a consultation with Dr. Schleicher . All surgical procedures have some degree of risk. Minor complications that do not affect the outcome occur occasionally, while major complications are unusual. If you're interested in more information on a neck lift or would like to know if you are a good candidate for the procedure, please schedule a free consultation (for cosmetic plastic surgery procedures only) by calling our office at 804-282-4940.

Billing & Payment

A neck lift is considered cosmetic surgery and not covered by health insurance. The patient is responsible for payment.
